Hey y’all!! My name is Allison Sherman, and this is my blog to document my year volunteering with the Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) program. Starting in August 2019, I will be spending a year in the Philippines, and I am excited to worship, learn, and serve in a new community! Before I head off, I wanted to let you know a little bit about me.
I grew up in a small town called Florence, Kentucky, which is just south of Cincinnati. I have two older brothers and will be getting a new sister-in-law this upcoming March. This past May, I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in anthropology. I have an interest in archaeology and hope to get my masters degree when I am finished with my YAV year.
In my free time, I like to watch tv/movies, read, and spend time with friends. I have a very broad taste in music and will listen to almost anything. I also love sports, and my favorites to watch are college basketball and curling (give it a chance and you’ll love it).
Thank you for checking out my blog and hopefully you will enjoy reading my posts throughout the year!
